I am the business, computer and information technology teacher for both 7th and 8th grade at the middle school.  I teach all sections of 8th grade Computer Concepts and currently teach 4 sections of the 7th grade Technology Essentials class.  This is subject to change.  

I have a Masters in both Education and an MBA from Robert Morris University.  

I have been teaching at Freeport for 16 years.

I am also the Student Council Advisor and plan most of the school wide activities along with the STUCO members.  

Classroom Information: 

Technology Essentials - 7th grade

File Management, printer installation, word basics, publisher basics, internet basics and safety, cyberbullying, search strategies

During this course students will focus on basic computer skills and responsible computer use. Students will develop a basic understanding of Internet safety, ethical computer use, keyboarding review, opening and closing software files, accessing and saving to the school server, copying and pasting files or text, copyright laws, and searching the Internet. This course will cover basic and intermediate skills and shortcuts using, but not limited to Microsoft Office. Beginner word and publisher activities will be completed.  It will teach students how to become a responsible digital citizen.

There will be a lesson on cyber bullying and appropriate use of internet communication. 

This is a block scheduling class that will run every day all year.  

Computer Concepts - 8th grade

Advanced word, advanced powerpoint, excel basics, advanced publisher

Students will develop a working knowledge of Office 2013 (Advanced Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, and Movie Maker), Internet use, & Windows 10.  This is a block scheduling class; the class will run all year every other day.

Homework Assignments - There will not be daily homework in either class -all work will be done within the class period.
